Mary Ellen Belford, age 87, of St. Charles, Missouri passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in St. Charles, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 10, 1934 to Clyde and Ella Murphy (nee Keevins).
Mary was a Benefits Coordinator at Southwestern Bell and she retired in 1987. She married Joseph Belford on June 26, 1954 and they spent many happy years together until Joe's passing on March 13, 1996. She enjoyed reading, going for walks, and watching murder mysteries on TV. Mary was an animal lover and especially loved her dogs, Dolly and Zipper.
Mary is survived by her niece, Leah Evans and many more extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Belford; son, Joseph A. Belford; parents, Clyde A. and Ella Murphy; two sisters, Betty A. Tracy and Geraldine L. Murphy; and two brothers, Kenneth Murphy and John "Jackie" Murphy.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri, 63376 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,7701 Highway N, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri 63368 on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 am.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Missouri at 1201 Macklind Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63110.
