Mary A Bernickus, née Kaffer
Born October 5, 1940, Joliet, IL, died February 10, 2021, St. Peter's, MO.

Graduated, St Francis Academy, 1958 and College of St Francis 1962, both of Joliet. Worked as a journalist, starting the first newspaper for the Diocese of Joliet, a teacher in IL and MO, and case manager for developmentally disabled individuals in MO.

Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making crafts, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family as well as her extended family.

She is survived by two sons, William J Bernickus, Jr., and Thomas A Bernickus (Laura), a sister, Kathryn A Kaffer of Gallup, NM, a brother James E Kaffer, of Sturgeon Lake, MN, 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John D and Isabelle G Kaffer, her husband, William J Bernickus, Sr, one daughter, Linda A Courtois, and a brother John C Kaffer.
