Mary Ann Sackman, age 63, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 in St Charles, Missouri. Mary Ann Baker Sackman was born in St. Louis, MO to Alvin and Henrietta Baker, the youngest of 3 girls.
She attended Clayton High School, then graduated with a Bachelors in Food Systems Management from the University of Missouri- Columbia. She worked for the school system in food service, and finished her career with Sodexo as a Kitchen Manager at Saeger Middle School.
She married Larry Sackman in 1985. She had a stepson and 2 daughters. They resided in St. Charles, MO.
She considered her most important job to be a mother and Nana. She found joy in attending every sporting event and activity her kids were involved in. In addition to spending time with her children and grandchildren, she loved cross stitching, reading, and watching television shows, especially Food Network. She was a wonderful baker and cook. She was a kind, thoughtful and sweet spirit. She will be dearly missed by many.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kaitlyn Sieger and her husband Adam of O Fallon, MO, and Kara Hudzinski and her husband Josh of Saint Peters, MO, step-son, Erik Sackman and his wife Katie, three granddaughters; Paige and Peyton Sieger and Sutton Sackman, two sisters, Christina Beth Henggeler and her husband Ken and Nancy K Burns and her husband Jim, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Henry Baker and Henrietta Elizabeth (Inglish) Baker, and her husband Larry Sackman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 4112 McClay Rd, St Charles, MO 63304. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery St Peters, MO. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the Siteman Cancer Center Development Office Washington University CB1204, 7425 Forsyth BLVD.
