Matthew Gerard Francis Luedecke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on July 2, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was known for his dedication to hard work throughout his life. Matthew's career at UPS, where he served as a delivery driver, package handler, and Union representative showcased his strong work ethic and commitment to providing excellent service.
Born on June 28, 1962 in St Louis MO, he spent his youth playing with his six siblings. Matthew was raised attending mass with his family and this laid the foundation for his ongoing Catholic faith. Matthew attended Hazelwood East High School where he was the strongest weightlifter for his weight class in his senior year. Thrifty by nature, he found joy in simple pleasures such as going fishing with friends and exploring antique or thrift stores. Matthew had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He also cherished moments spent at concerts and festivals, watching fireworks at the St Charles riverfront, and celebrating holidays with his loved ones.
Matthew will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his daughters Kimberly (Jason Hicks) Luedecke and Kelsey Luedecke; grandchildren Arthur Hicks and Annabelle Hicks; sister Lynne (Mike) Quallen; brothers Thomas Luedecke, Jack Luedecke, Paul Luedecke, and Philip (Peggy) Luedecke; and sister Nancy (Joseph) DeBlaze.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Luedecke; father, James L. Luedecke; and mother, Beverly Ann Luedecke.
A visitation in memory of Matthew will take place on Sunday, July 7th atNewcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions St. Peters Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at 10:00 AM at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The interment will follow at St. Theodore Catholic Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Following the interment, the family invites you to join them at the Knights of Columbus Hall near the church for a luncheon.

Matthew Luedecke will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, sense of humor, and love for life's simple pleasures.
