Melanie Harris

Melanie Harris, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully in St. Peters, MO on September 30, 2024, at the age of 60. She was born on December 29, 1963, to Sylvan and Marion Harris, who preceded her in death, as did her brother Sylvan Harris, Jr.

Melanie was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in Ambler, PA where she graduated from Upper Dublin High School and was a member of the marching band. 

In her spare time, Melanie appreciated the study of genealogy, spending countless hours and lots of legwork tracing and sharing her family’s history. This passion not only connected her to her roots but also allowed her to pass on rich stories and cherished memories to her loved ones. She also was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, passionately following the team and enjoying the games. Melanie’s love of cardinals--the birds--was a bond she shared with her mother Marion.

Melanie’s enthusiasm for life will be missed by all who knew her. She held a deep love for her family and friends, especially her son. She is survived by her devoted son Bryan Hulsey; her two siblings, Frank Harris (Patti), and Sandy Lewis (Bill); her sister-in-law Carroll Harris; nieces and nephews Jennifer Shomper (Rob), Jeff Lewis (Marsha), Katie Harris, Jon Lewis, Glen Harris (Nichole), Jessica Boyd and Travis Harris.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, 907 Jungermann Rd., St. Peters, MO 63376.
