Merrie Kay Hawley

Merrie Kay Hawley, age 63, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was born in Alton, Illinois on September 24, 1959 to Thomas and Judith Garvey (nee Price).

Merrie is survived by her husband, Jerome Hawley, Jr.; mother Judith Glassmeyer; step-daughters, Heather (Eric) Codak and Kimberlee (Chris Quick) Hawley; grandchildren, Lillian Hollenbeck, Cecelia Quick, Trevor Codak, and Elenor Codak; brother, Timothy (Susy) Garvey; sisters, Tina (John) Janssen and Sue Ellen (Scott) Boschert; sister-in-law, Vicky Garvey; step-sister, Denise Huff; nephews, Kyle Garvey, Chase Garvey, and Seth Boschert; and niece, Sydney Boschert.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Garvey, and step-father, Leo Glassmeyer.


Merrie was a beloved wife, daughter, step-mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. One of her great joys was spending time with her family, and she looked forward to lunches with her Mom, sisters, and friends, as a member of "Mom's Girl Gang". She also enjoyed holidays with extended family, especially Christmas. Merrie was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
