Michael Joel Bearden, a beloved son, brother, and friend, was born on December 2, 1980, in Hialeah, Florida, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 14, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri. Michael's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments shared with those he cherished.
Michael was a proud graduate of Fort Zumwalt South High School, class of 1999, where he not only honed his academic skills but also made lifelong friends. His cheerful spirit and infectious humor made him a joy to be around. He possessed an innate ability to interact with anyone he met, effortlessly bringing a smile to their faces. A true jokester at heart, Michael’s great sense of humor warmed the souls of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Michael had a passion for exploring the great outdoors, often accompanied by his beloved family. He found joy in camping and would seek out every path, eager to discover what lay ahead. This adventurous spirit extended to his hobbies; he relished watching movies, gaming, and being a dedicated fan of wrestling, particularly The Undertaker. His interests mirrored his personality—curious, engaging, and full of life.
Family was a cornerstone of Michael's existence. He took great pride in his loved ones and was remembered fondly by them as someone who always kept their dad on his toes. He trusted others deeply, exuding a kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Michael’s proudest accomplishment was his ability to become self-sufficient and forge his own path in life.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his father Gary Bearden; sisters Rachel (Brian) Henkelman and Rebecca Baskin; brothers Thomas Cook, Jr. and Shawn (Gabby) Cook; step-siblings Kamilah Murry, Cassandra Cook, and Samuel Cook; step-father Thomas Cook; grandmothers Olga McClendon and Alice Bearden; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will hold his memory close to their hearts.
Michael is reunited in spirit with his beloved mother, Katherine Cook, and maternal and paternal grandfathers, Joseph McClendon and William Bearden, who will forever look upon him with love.
