Michael Lynn Forsythe, a beloved son and friend, was born on May 1, 1962, in St. Louis, MO. He passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024 in St. Peters, MO. Michael's life was a testament to the joys of hard work, laughter, and generosity.
For many years, Michael dedicated his days working on the ranch in Montana, building a deep appreciation for the countryside and embracing the rustic lifestyle. He later returned to his roots in St. Louis, where he drove Material Trucks for Schreiters. His lighthearted spirit earned him the affectionate nickname "Bucket Head," a fond reminder of his playful nature and the relationships he fostered wherever he went.
Michael was not only a hard worker but also a man with an impressive sense of humor. His mischievous personality, combined with his tender-heartedness, allowed him to touch the lives of many. He had an innate ability to make people laugh while also offering compassion and support to anyone in need. Those who knew him cherished his knack for storytelling, his giving nature, and his unwavering willingness to help others. In his more quiet moments, Michael found joy in making dollhouses in his basement, which he loved to gift to friends, showcasing his thoughtful spirit and creative soul. He also spent countless hours mowing lawns for his neighbors, always finding joy in these small acts of kindness.
Michael's life was marked by cherished memories, such as planting cypress trees for his loved ones—a symbolic gesture that reflected his deep love for family and friends. His legacy will live on in the beauty of these trees, which will stand as monuments to his affection and memory.
He is survived by his loving mother, Sue C. Downs; his aunts, Lois Velders, Kay Sweger, Donna Cooke and Peggy Hodges; his cousins, Julie Fletcher, Jeanne Velders, Casey LaBaty, Mary Ann Schmisseur-Engle, Steve Hodges, Sheri Stimac, Romer Hodges, Ron Hodges, and Damon Hodges; and his constant companions, his dogs, Auckus and Ace. Michael was preceded in death by his father, William Perry Forsythe; his grandparents, Mary Jean Hodges and Earl Hodges, Celeste and Grandfather Nix; his uncles, Romer Hodges and Ronald Hodges; and his beloved dogs, Buddy and Molly.
