Michael Joseph Gray, age 76, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away in Lake St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 after his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 26, 1947 to Eugene and Dorothy Gray (nee Pohlman).
A devoted husband to Karen (Dalton) Gray for 53 years and loving father of his three children Anne, Erin, and Chris along with his 8 grandchildren, he was the definition of a model husband, father, and grandfather. His understanding, generosity, and love for those in his life was effortless and part of a moral code that is often admired and only read about in a book. It is no wonder so many in his life looked up to him; even those meeting him for the first time earned his respect. People always wanted to be around him.
Mike was talented and enjoyed a number of hobbies. He was a handyman who learned all of his skills from his father-in-law, Jack Dalton. He could tackle any of his own home issues and never hesitated to help his family with projects of their own. He was also a crucial role in his wife's legendary garden and his self-designed pergola made for Karen was featured on the cover of Better Homes and Garden magazine.
Mike was an experienced fisherman and enjoyed trips to Maramac Springs Park with his son and grandsons or a trip down the street to Busch Wildlife to see if the trout were biting. His baseball and softball days are remembered by those in his old neighborhood and SSJJ parrish and he also enjoyed playing golf.
Mike was brave, especially in the last years of his life. He never folded and fought for more time to teach those who knew him a positive lesson until his passing. Mike was selfless, and never complained. His humility, bravery, loyalty, and incredible work ethic were unwavering. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his Wife, Karen Gray; Two Daughters, Anne Green, Erin (Greg) Schwartz; Son, Christopher (Sae) Gray; Eight grandchildren, Ryan Green, Adelaide Green, Jude Green, Alexandra Schwartz, Charles Schwartz, Gabriella Schwartz, Emma Gray, Ren Gray; Two Sisters, Barbara (Larry) Larkin, Patricia (Frank) Brucato; Three Brothers, Timothy (Linda) Gray, James (Claire) Gray, John (Debbie) Gray; and a host of other family members and friends.
