Michael P. Mcdonnell

Michael P. McDonnell, age 71, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on March 6, 1952 to John and Elayne McDonnell (nee Wendell).
Michael will be remembered for his great taste in music, for his homemade barbecue sauce, his love of fishing, science, sci-fi and classic tv shows. He was smart and witty, fun and quirky and was notorious for exaggerating stories! He loved his sweets, especially Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and ice cream. He definitely did things his way and never seemed to be concerned with impressing others. He was stubborn, but endearing. With an associates degree, he worked his way up through a communications company to become a Senior Planning Engineer and retired after more than 30 years of employment with them.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Estates of St. Louis and Gentiva Hospice for their care these past few years and weeks.
Michael is survived by his children, Molly (Jonathan) Triola, Erin McDonnell (Chris Benson), and Michael (Sharon) McDonnell Jr.; his granddaughters, Stephanie Cunningham, Caitlin McDonnell, River Benson, and Lake Benson; his grandsons, Landon McDonnell, Brycen McDonnell, and Rain Benson; his sisters, Debra McDonnell, and Ann Marie (Sal) Lozano; and his brother, Brian McDonnell; He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elayne McDonnell; and his brother, Bruce McDonnell.
