Michael P. Morrissey, age 57, of Spanish Lake, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home in O'fallon Missouri after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in St. Louis, MO on March 18, 1963 to John and Darlene Morrissey (nee Molen).
Mike was married to Colleen and they had 2 children together. Mike also had 4 children from a previous marriage and 3 step children. Mike was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his wife, children and grandchildren fiercely and they loved him back just as fiercely. Mike worked hard all his life as a union brick layer to support his family and to give them all the things in life he never had. Mike loved to host family parties. He was the grill master. Mike was a stranger to none and a friend to many. Mike was the go to guy for anything you needed fixed. If he didn't know how to fix it, he knew someone who could. Mike also loved fishing with his kids and grandkids. He loved taking weekend trips to the Lake of the Ozarks for fishing and fish fries with his mother-in-law and his father in-law who he loved dearly. Mike also loved to ride his Harley. Two months before he was diagnosed with cancer he bought a Harley for him and his wife to ride together. Although they only were able to ride for a short time before the cancer disabled him, they enjoyed the time together on the bike. In the end he was not defined by the cancer but by the love he had for his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife Colleen Morrissey; his children, Monica (Paul) Kelley Jr., Greg Morrissey, Mark (Kayla Fairall) Morrissey, David Morrissey, Nevin Morrissey, Darby Morrissey, Brenna (Bryan Rasberry) Schaffer, Carol (Dennis) Jones, and Sara (Ben Decker) Schaffer; his grandchildren, Gavin Kelley, Kayla Kelley, Samuel Morrissey, Matthew Morrissey, Camden Morrissey, Kailey Weitkemper, Emma Mulligan, Jake Rasberry, Luke Rasberry, Tyle Jones, Charlotte Jones and Claire Jones and Ruby Decker; his siblings John (Melanie) Morrissey and Christina (Jay) Burnett; his Father in-law and Mother In-law Glen and Carol King Jr, Brothers in law Glen (Aoy) King, Jeff (Cecelia) King and Sister in-law Sara (David) Rosenberger. He will be dearly missed my many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Morrissey; his mother, Darlene Morrissey; his brothers Kenneth Morrissey and Dennis Morrissey.
