Michael Eugene Yocum

August 18, 1951 — December 25, 2021

Michael Eugene Yocum, age 70, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 18, 1951 to Willard Yocum and Eileen Baumgartner.

Mike graduated from Corner High School in Alabama in 1969. He was on the football team and participated in gymnastics. After High School he enlisted in the United States Air force. After his four year tour in the Air force, he worked at ITT Blackburn. Mike loved scuba diving, deep sea fishing, cheering on his favorite team the Alabama Crimson Tide and hunting with his friends. Mike had his own seat in Smut Corner at the Penalty Box. He enjoyed a cold Budweiser and a Winston while having laughs and enjoying time with friends and family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sheena Yocum; mother of his children, Susan; children Michael (daughter in law, Donna), Jill, Eric and Nik, stepdaughter Kimmie; grandchildren Brendan, Kaylee, Skylar, Keegen and Ella; siblings Debbie, Kenny, Brian and Kim. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Eileen and his sister Loretta.

Service will be held at Gracepoint Pentecostal Church, 2450 Pontoon Rd, Granite City, Illinois, 62040 on December 31, 2021 at 2:00 pm.

Food will be served at the church after the service.

Memorial contributions in Mike's name may be made out to the Ronald McDonald House Charities or Homes for Heroes.
