August 7, 1959 — June 17, 2023
Cain, Michele "Mickey" (nee Long), of Moscow Mills, MO, went to Heaven on Saturday June 17, 2023 at the age of 63.
Born in 1959, she was one of three children born to Dennis R. and Margaret A. Long (nee Manhal). Michele graduated from Fort Zumwalt High and received her Associates degree from Forest Park Community College. She was married to the love of her life, Greg Cain, on October 6, 2013.
Later in life, after her daughter's diagnosis with Cystic Fibrosis, Michele bravely pursued her degree in healthcare and became a respiratory therapist working for St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was passionate about caring for her patients. She had a special knack for building trust, especially with some of the more challenging patients and they just adored her.
Michele absolutely loved life, and laughter. Seldom was she seen without her beautiful smile. She was extremely close to her family and was crazy about her seven grandkids! Michele and Greg loved to travel and did so quite often, especially to Panama City Beach, FL where they were married.
Michele is survived by her parents Dennis R. and Margaret A. Long (nee Manhal), of St. Peters,MO; her brother, Butch (Kathy) Long, of St. Peters, MO; her sister, Cynthia (Kevin) Powers, of St. Peters, MO ; three children: her daughter Danielle (Zach) Mills (nee Harter) , of St. Peters,MO; her stepson Christopher (Andrea) Cain, of St. Peters, MO; her stepdaughter Heather (Ryan) Malcinski, (nee Cain) of Moscow Mills, MO. She is preceded in death by her daughter Erica Lauren Harter. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Harlee, Michael, RaeLynn, Erianna, Bennett, Christian, and Mia, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Erica Lauren Harter.
A viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, MO from 1 pm to 6 pm Friday. Services will follow visitation at 6 pm.
