Myron Stephan Worobec, Myroslaw, age 78 passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in O'Fallon, Missouri. He was born near Vienna Austria, at Strasshof an der Nordbahn on October 26, 1944, to Wasyl (Basil) and Zenowia (Zenovia) Worobec (née Potosznyk). He spent his early years in New Jersey. He briefly lived in Cincinnati and moved to the St. Louis area in 1977.
Myron had an infectious personality and was loved by many. He was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage.
Myron was an avid sports lover and tennis player. He played college soccer at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was an All-American and a member of the United States National Soccer Team. He was also a passionate soccer coach.
Myron received an industrial engineering degree from NJIT and a master's degree from Seton Hall. Myron spent most of his career in chemical sales. He worked for American Cyanamid and BASF.
Myron is survived by his three sons, Michael (Jill), William (Joanne), and Adam (Ashley); six grandchildren, Abigail, Evan, Gwyneth, Vivian, William, and Nikolai; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen; parents, Wasyl and Zenowia; brothers, Andrij and Bohdan; and sisters, Ulyana and Wira.
The funeral ceremony will be 5:00 pm Thursday, May 25, 2023, at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at St. Peters Chapel.
