Nancy Ehlert

Nancy Ann Ehlert, age 78, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri formerly of  Roodhouse, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. She was born in Oran, Algeria on October 29, 1945 to James and Helyett Jones (nee Pascual). 

Nancy Ehlert, a devoted wife and cherished community member, passed away after a life characterized by love and dedication. For over 45 years, Nancy served as a Legal Secretary at McNeely Law Office in Jacksonville, Illinois, where her commitment and professionalism were deeply valued.

Raised in Roodhouse, Illinois, Nancy was a member of Roodhouse Methodist Church until its closure, after which she joined the First Baptist Church of Roodhouse. Her faith was an important part of her life, guiding her as she created lasting memories with family and friends.

Nancy was married to her beloved husband, Carl Ehlert, with whom she shared a remarkable journey that began in high school. Their 61 years together were filled with affection and support for one another.

An avid fan of Cardinal baseball, Nancy also had a passion for gardening, particularly for cultivating beautiful lilies. In addition to her love for flowers, she enjoyed watching University of Illinois Men's Basketball, often cheering them on with enthusiasm.

As a grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy took immense joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports, proudly supporting them at every game. Family celebrations were always special occasions, marked by Nancy's festive spirit, as she loved decorating for the holidays and she will always be remembered for the eight Christmas trees she would put up every year.

Nancy's legacy of love for her family and her passion for life will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for her warmth and kindness.

Nancy is survived by her Husband, Carl Ehlert; Children, Beth (John) Stankoven and Kristen (Brad) Constable; Grandchildren, Courtney (Nathan) Jones, Jordan (Rylee) Stankoven, and Brad Kruzan; Great-Grandchildren, Liam Jones and Noah Jones; and Sibling Dick (Lisa) Jones and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Father, James Jones; and Mother, Helyett Jones.
