Nelson Eugene Brown passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 at Saint Joseph Hospital with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.

Nelson was born on April 22, 1931 in Crump, Missouri. His parents were Roby and Carrie Brown and he lived on their farm until he married his wife, Delores Jean Proffer on July 24, 1949. They were married for 68 years.

After retiring from McDonnell, he lived at the home he and Delores built in St. Charles, in 1958 until his death. They also inherited Delores’ family farm in Crump, Missouri, and together used it as a vacation place and built a home there. He loved to drive his tractor and be out in the fields.

Nelson was a charter member of Highland View Baptist Church in St. Charles. He attended Brooks Bible Institute and taught Sunday School for many years. He also was church treasurer and deacon. Later, he joined First Baptist Church of St. Charles and was a Bible study teacher there for several years.

Nelson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Gary Harrelson of St. Peters, Missouri, and Carolyn and Richard Fink of Creve Coeur, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michael and wife, Rose Harrelson, of Godfrey Illinois, and Timothy and wife, Stephanie, Harrelson of St. Peters, Missouri, and Amanda Kowalski and husband, Adam, of Parkland, Florida; and twelve great grandchildren, Benjamin and Joshua Cruz of Franklin, Tennessee; Elias, Isaac, and Levi Harrelson of Godfrey, Illinois; Caleb, Connor, and Alexandra Kowalski of Parkland, Florida; and Ezekiel, Matthias, Kilian, and Talia Harrelson of St. Peters, Missouri.
