Norbert Edmund Deterding, age 73, of O Fallon, Missouri passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in O Fallon, Missouri. He was born in Redbud, Illinois on January 29, 1949 to Elmer and Alice Deterding (nee Masterson).
Norbert was a leader for the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, buying movies especially Star Wars and old Westerns, and listening to Elvis and country music. Norbert liked to help his dad with wood working and building the lake house. He was a member of Assumption BVM parish in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Norbert is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean Deterding, children, Crystal (Alan) Dempsey, Matthew Deterding, Teresa (Dorena) Hann, Amy (Jason) Harl, grandchildren, Joshua Dobyns, Kaitlyn Dobyns, Andrew Dobyns, Jacob Harl, Lilly Harl, Alex Riedy, Logan Harl, Mason Harl and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Alice Deterding; brothers, Robert Deterding and Larry Deterding.
Services will be July 29, at Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary, 403 N Main St, O'Fallon, MO 63366. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 10:30 am with mass to follow at Assumption church. Inurnment at Assumption Cemetery to be announced at a later date.
