Padmarani Kosaraju, 78, passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2024 in St. Louis, MO. Born in Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh, India, to the late Telagayya and Rajeshwari, and was the second of 8 children. She was preceded in death by her brothers (the late Tirumala Rao, Raja and Vijay) and 2 sisters (the late Lakshmi Tripuramba and Geetha). She is survived by her 2 sisters, Uma and Rama.
Padma had many careers in her life and was an entrepreneurial spirit. She formed an education company focused on creative toys made from recycled and natural materials, working with UNICEF to make them available to children of all means. She even had a pickle business and a daycare. After moving to the US over 30 years ago, Padma spent time helping to raise her granddaughters and focused her energy on forming a community through mindfulness and meditation. She was a lifelong devotee of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo and saw The Divine in every living being.
Padma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law (Sree and Vamsi), and her grandchildren (Aneesha, Akshara, and Alex).
Visitation and Viewing will be held on Friday, November 8th from 5-9pm at Newcomer Funeral Home of West County. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16th from 10am-2pm with a collective consciousness meditation from 11:30am-12pm, followed by lunch. This will take place at the Hindu Temple Cultural Center, 725 Weidman Road, St. Louis, Missouri, 63011. White attire is requested.
Padma's final request was to feed the less fortunate in Kurumaddali, India through the Avadootamma Ashram. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory during the Visitation and Celebration of Life.
