Pamela Marmorstein (nee Black Cloud) of Manchester, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, after a long illness.
She was born on January 9th, 1957, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Her parents were Michael Defender and Vivian Archambault.
She attended school in Arizona and also Sacramento City College.
She is Lakota and was enrolled on the Standing Rock Reservation.
Pamela met her husband Jeffrey (Jody) Marmorstein in Sacramento, California, in 1984. They were married in 1988 and soon relocated to Bettendorf, Iowa. In 1997, they moved to their current home in Manchester, Missouri.
Her hobbies included sewing and running, and she was devoted to her pets over the years: dogs – Buddy, Corky, Kirby and Snoopy; and cats – Pepper and Amaryllis.
While living in Bettendorf, she participated in the Bix7 run many times. After moving she completed the St. Louis marathon along with several local half-marathons.
Pamela was very involved with her grandchildren and her many friends.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey, her daughter Carly (Brian) Springer, seven grandchildren; Nathan, Sage, Sophia, Grace, Seth, Madelyn and Cora plus one great-grandchild Emmett. Also her siblings Maribel Gerry and Charlotte Carey, Willie John Gerry, and Brian Gerry.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Vivian, her twin sister Paula, her nephew Michael Black Cloud, and her siblings Edward, Bobby, Francine, Woody and Joann.
