Pamela Diane Royle, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Kirkwood, Missouri, on February 22, 2025, at the age of 86. Pam was born on August 27, 1938, in Alma, Michigan.
She had the most remarkable life! She was the first person in her family to graduate from college, attending Albion College, a small private school in Albion, Michigan. Among her many roles, she was a teacher, a radio DJ, an author, and a motivational speaker. Later in life, she helped build a successful home health care agency from the ground up, expanding it to multiple satellite offices that provided care to thousands of people. She also worked as a private consultant in that field and later dedicated her time to helping immigrants with their immigration status.
She was a founding member of the River Bend Repertory Theatre, a neighborhood group that produced hilarious sketch-comedy shows for years for neighbors and friends. She was also an active member of Sweet Adelines International (SAI), an organization dedicated to preserving barbershop a cappella music. In fact, she was a founding member of the Regional Championship Chorus, The River Blenders, served on the Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Region 5 Board, and later joined the six-time International Championship chorus, The Rich-Tones. As a member of SAI, she competed in numerous championship quartets and became the organization’s first-ever Webcaster, hosting multiple times for both International and Regional competitions.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Royle, of Orlando, FL, and John (Lisa) Royle, of Sunset Hills, MO; her daughter, Carolyn ‘Cory’ (Seth) Cummings, of Frisco, TX; and her grandson, Carson Cummings. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Gee; her sister-in-law, Tamara Royle; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Gee; her mother, Dorotha (Mapes) Gee; and her former husband, Robert Royle.
She will be remembered and deeply missed for the love she gave to her family, the support she provided to her friends, her great sense of humor, and the caring manner in which she lived her life.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home West County (2211 Clarkson Rd., Chesterfield, Missouri 63017), followed by her Celebration of Life at 4 PM in the chapel to honor Pam’s incredible journey and the love she so freely shared.
