Patricia Gayle Hughes

Patricia Gayle Hughes, age 71, passed away at home on February 25th, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born April 3, 1951 in Monroe, Louisiana to Lessie Marie Patrick and James H. Johnston.
Gayle was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother, Eddie W. Johnston; and her husband, J.D. Hughes.
Gayle's survivors are her sister, Linda J. Power; brother, James E. Johnston; Nieces, Sarah A. Jacobs, Linda Kaye Morris, Ashley N. Power, and Ebony J. Power; and several grand-nephews.
Calvary United Church of Christ was very much a part of Gayle's life and devotion. She was a valuable asset to the choir. Another joy for Gayle was the Tuesday casual gossip quilting sessions with her family basement church ladies.
Her greatest achievement was learning the metro/bus routes to her many art and pottery classes at the community colleges and libraries.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 21, 2023 at 11:00am at Calvary United Church of Christ located at 2501 Hartland Ave, St. Louis, MO 63114.
