Patricia J. Yount, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, departed this world on April 4, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, generosity, and compassion. Born on January 3, 1934, in Jefferson City, Missouri, Patricia graced this life with her vibrant spirit and genuine nature, touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Patricia was truly one-of-a-kind, embodying selflessness in every interaction and always putting the needs of others before her own. Throughout her life, she found profound happiness in her family, and one of her greatest joys came from becoming a great-grandmother. Patricia’s heart swelled with pride as she nurtured connections with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever carry with them the warmth of her love. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Geniece Hughes and Catherine (Richard) Hensley; three grandchildren, Joseph Gibson, Ashley (Donald) Strutman, and Tyler Schallenberg; and five great-grandchildren, Garrett Strutman, Darren Gibson, Madisyn Strutman, Kynnedi Strutman, and Ivie Strutman.
An avid gardener at heart, Patricia found peace and solace amid the blooms and blossoms, nurturing the land with the same care she devoted to her family. Her affection for hummingbirds and flowers revealed her love for all things beautiful, a reflection of her kind soul. Known to her friends and family as a social butterfly, she relished every opportunity to engage with others, drawing from each encounter a delightful story to share.
Patricia's spirit of giving extended far beyond her family; her dedication to service was exemplified in her active participation at Calvary Temple. Her proudest accomplishments stemmed from her time spent in the church, where she engaged in missionary work and outreach, inviting others into the loving embrace of her faith. She participated in various classes and bible studies, pouring her heart into every lesson and sharing the wisdom of her journey with those around her.
Patricia's departure leaves an undeniable void, felt profoundly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first late-husband, Allan Gibson, her late-husband, Arthur Yount, her mother, Geneva Price Schmitz, her father, Theodore Roosevelt Henderson, her son, Michael Gibson, and her grandchild, Amanda Gibson.
As we bid farewell to Patricia J. Yount, let us cherish the memories of her caring spirit, unfaltering love, and the light she brought into our lives. May her enduring legacy of kindness and selflessness inspire us all to live with the same fervor and compassion she so generously exemplified. She will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered by those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
