Patrick D. Scott, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died on April 18, 2020, his 73rd birthday. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janice (née Prunty), his sons, Patrick (Jodi) and Timothy (Dana) and his grandchildren, Julia and Ryan Scott and Kate and Maggie Scott. Preceded in death by his infant son, David Joseph (1973) and his parents Wm. Vincent and Juanita Scott. Much loved brother of Becky Thoene, Kathleen (Adolph) Kump, Bob (Marianne) Scott, Linda Ritter, Mike (Sheila) Scott, and Colleen (Kent) Ripperda. Uncle, cousin, brother in law, and friend of many.
Pat graduated from St. Louis Prep South Seminary and UMSL and served in the Army Reserves from 1971-1977.
He was so happy to have found St. Peter Parish when we moved to St. Charles. He quickly became an active member by helping on the cemetery clean-up crew, singing in the traditional choir, the Resurrection choir, and greeting and ushering until his illnesses would no longer permit it.
His entire work career was spent in purchasing at companies which included Universal Match, Emerson Electric, Mark Andy and GKN Aerospace.
His interests included classic cars, Cardinal baseball, NFL, ICE CREAM, flipping houses, and family events.
Pat's diagnosis of Parkinson's in 2010 and then Lewy Body Dementia and bladder cancer changed his life. They robbed him of his strength, his mind, his incredible Irish wit and his life, but they never lessened his love of God, Family and Country.
Pat was blessed to have had such amazing family and friends. We thank everyone for their love, concern, prayers and visits during this terrible journey. We are especially grateful to Ron and Sophie Hart and Rich Beckett for their kindness and frequent visits. Even though his brother Bob was probably rarely described as an angel in his youth, he IS our very special angel.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at McClay Senior Care and the staff of Heartland Hospice. We are grateful for your outstanding care.
In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. Or, you may donate to the APDA (Parkinson's), 1415 Ellbridge Payne Rd, Suite 150, Chesterfield 63017, or St. Peter Parish, 221 1st Capitol Dr., St Charles, MO 63301, or Hope for the Heroes.
