Patsy Ruth Hecht, born Patsy Gregory on September 29, 1932, in St. Louis County, Missouri, passed away on July 9, 2024, in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt whose presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Patsy graduated from Pattonville High School and went on to achieve a successful career alongside her husband. In1957, they established Community Lumber and Hardware, a business that became an integral part of their lives until they sold it in 1987.
Known for her strong family values and dedication to her loved ones, Patsy was described as very family-oriented. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
In her leisure time, Patsy enjoyed boating, traveling - with a special fondness for her trips to Hawaii - visiting their lake house in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and engaging in card games and dominos with family and friends.
Patsy is survived by her sons Rick (Cynthia) Hecht and Jim Hecht, daughter Susan (the late Terry) Gerling, as well as numerous grandchildren: Dale (Jessica) Hecht, Stacey Brouk, Amanda (Brian) Hake, Ashley Hecht, Kayla Hecht, Jennifer (Phillip) Williams, Michael (Tiffany) Gerling, Lisa (David) Miller; many great-grandchildren: Levi Hecht, Seth Hecht, Elijah Brouk, Hudson Brouk, Caroline Hake, Lucy Hake, Nolan Scofield, Kaylie Williams, Lexie Williams, Macie Williams, Kiernan Gerling, McKenzie Gerling, Abby Arnett-Miller, Peyton Miller, and Reagan Miller.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orville Hecht; father, Charles "Spud" Gregory; mother, Hilda Gregory (nee Krigbaum); sisters, Betty (Bob) Knaust, Judy (Don) Sikes, and brother, Charles "Chuck" Gregory.
The visitation for Patsy will take place at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions St. Peters Chapel on July 14th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on July 15th at 9:00 AM at the same location. Interment will immediately follow at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Patsy's kindness, love for her family, and enduring spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
