Peggy L. Oberts, age 86, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 14, 1936 to Sydney and Kizzie Vaal (nee Masters). She was happily married to James E. Oberts for 47 years.
Peggy graduated from William Beaumont High School in 1954. She then attended college at South East Missouri State where she was a founding chapter member of the Tri-Sigma Sorority. After graduating, Peggy taught Physical Education for Ritenour School District.
Peggy was an avid seamstress, cook, and gardener. She loved to read, travel, and take long rides in the car with Jim. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Peggy had a way of making every grandchild feel like they were her favorite.
Peggy is survived by her Two Daughters, Valerie (Mark) Schnefke, Cindy (Timothy) Roth; Six grandchildren, Amy Rose (Steve Gilletly) Cessna, Kristen (Dan) Herina, Dylan (Tracy) Roth, Linda (Sean) Church, Jen (Brad) Henningfeld, Philip (Allison) Schnefke; Twelve great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Harper, Abby, Annie, Addison, Amelia, Elizabeth, Theodore, Alex, Landon, Joseph, Booker; many beloved Nieces and Nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, James E. Oberts; Father, Sydney Robert Vaal; Mother, Kizzie Ozilla Vaal; and Brother, Robert Chris Vaal.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 11:00am until 12:30pm at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment will be private.
