Philip John Auchly, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on October 26, 1957, Phil lived a life rich in love, family, and lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Auchly, and their three children, Laura Auchly, Mark (Cassie) Auchly and Jill (John) Vaughn. Phil was a proud grandfather who cherished his time with his three grandsons, Arlen Auchly, Wells Auchly, and Gordon Vaughn. He is also survived by three sisters, Gwen (Bill) Struckmann, Beth (Greg) Ostmann, and Terri (Randy) Vandiver; two brothers, Barry (Brenda) Auchly and Nick (Kathy) Auchly; as well as four sister-in-laws, Gail (Roger) Jefferson, Lilly (Lonnie) McGee, Penny Bryne, and Veronica Krug; two brother-in-laws, Dennis (Sharon) Henry, and Revo Rhoades; and a host of other family members and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, Richard Auchly, his mother, Lorraine Auchly, four brother-in-laws, John Henry, Patrick Henry, Rick Bryne, and Bruce Krug, two sister-in-laws, Doris Henry and Karen Rhoades, along with his mother-in-law, Lillian Henry.
A passionate outdoor enthusiast, Phil enjoyed waterfowl hunting and spending time riding Harleys with his brothers and friends. He will fondly be remembered for never missing the opportunity to point out a beautiful sunset. He was known for his hardworking nature and his sentimental, big-hearted approach to life. His happiest moments were spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, surrounded by family, where his love for his children and grandchildren shone brightly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Phil’s life at a visitation on February 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters. Following the visitation, a Mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Saint Paul at 11:00 AM.
Philip John Auchly will be remembered fondly as a man of great character, a loving family member, and a friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
