Phyllis D. (nee Farris) Bishop, Age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Born November 21, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Cecil R. Farris and the late Pearl J.(nee Hawthorn)Farris.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of 75 years to the late James K. Bishop, Jr.; Loving Mother to, James K. (Dixie) Bishop,III, David E. (Patricia) Bishop, George A. (Kim) Bishop, Cheryl D. (the late Dale) Schlater; Cherished Grandmother to: Darla (Bill) Quillman, Melissa (Cory) Bishop-Mattaline, David E. Bishop, II, Laura D. (Mike) Wasson, James W. (Kim) Bishop, Adam (Liz) Bishop, Emily (James) Watkins, Leah (Steve) Fiske, and Dana (Chris) Schlater-Ellerbrook; Loving Great-grandmother to 22 and Great-Great-Grandmother to 1.
Phyllis and family moved from the Kansas City area to St. Louis in 1967. After settling in she and her husband founded Jim Bishop Company, an emblematic jewelry company.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
