Rainey Earl Godbey, age 87, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Cherryville, Missouri on March 6, 1936 to Herman and Mabel Godbey.
Rainey was married to the love of his life, Joan, for 64 years. In his free time Rainey liked to go hunting and fishing. Rainey was an avid football fan, in most recent years the Chiefs and he loved watching NASCAR. He was also a self taught guitarist, when his children were younger he would play the guitar for them and sing. Above anything though, Rainey loved spending time with his family.
Rainey is survived by his Wife, Joan Godbey; Two Daughters, Christine (Tip) Joyce, Terry (Jeff) Johnson; Two grandchildren, Joann (Buck) Richardson, James (Evan) Johnson; Five great-grandchildren, Ashley Henderson, Zach Henderson, Abby Henderson, Trysten Johnson-Derksen, Trayden Johnson-Derksen; Great Great-Grandson, Zayden Henderson; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Herman Rufus Godbey; Mother, Mabel Godbey; Three Siblings, Marvin Godbey, Charles Godbey, Betty Stricklin.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel with a visitation one hour prior.
