Randall “Randy” John Krul passed away on March 18th, 2024, at the age of 71 in St. Louis, MO with his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Krul by his side. Randy battled with several serious medical issues over the years. We take comfort in knowing Randy passed in his sleep and is now at peace.
Randy was born December 20, 1952, in Lorain, OH. After Randy graduated from Lorain High School in 1971, he went on to study business and marketing at Kent State. After graduating with a dual degree in Business Management, and Marketing, he started his first job at Sylvania Lighting as a salesman, kickstarting a highly successful 30+ year career in lighting sales management. After retiring, he enjoyed visiting the mountains of the Colorado Rockies to see his son, and spending time with his granddaughters, who knew him as ‘papa.’
In 1970, Randy met Kathy Krul at Lor-el Industries, where they both worked, and they later married on September 14th, 1974 in Avon, OH. Randy and Kathy went on to have 2 children, Talhia and Justin. Growing up on Lake Erie, he spent a lot of time out on the water with his father and their boat. He continued this legacy with his family, only on much smaller lakes in Missouri. Randy enjoyed anything to do with golf; playing golf, watching golf, and of course talking about golf. He also enjoyed watching and talking about football, Go Buckeyes!
Randy wanted to be remembered as a devoted husband and father, who gave everything for his family and who never gave up nor quit. He can be remembered by his love of baseball caps (usually filled with loose change, golf tees, a thick wallet, and sunglasses), an ever-present newspaper, his big green John Deer riding mower, his catchphrases or ‘Randyisms’, and never a flashlight or box of lightbulbs far away. He can also be remembered by his big voice and knack for public speaking, handwritten notes full of numbers and calculations, and fleece jackets.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Talhia, his father, Louis S. Krul, and his mother, Lillian E. Krul. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Krul, his son, Justin Krul, his granddaughters, Ava and Ella Silva, his sister, Jackie Schumacher, and his brother, Robert Krul.
We invite you all to share pictures or memories. It was his wish that we celebrate his life and smile together during this time.
