Ray Hecke, age 87, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in St. Charles, Missouri. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on August 8, 1933 to Peter and Nellie Hecke (nee Brown).
Ray was proud of his cars and took pride in keeping them clean. He thoroughly enjoyed all the road trips he was able to go on with family and friends. Ray was an avid fan of the St Louis Blues and the St Louis Cardinals, and he had quite the memorabilia collection. Going gambling on the boats was a favorite pastime. He spent many evenings reading the Reader's Digest. Ray loved eating, especially his donuts on Sundays. In his early years, he enjoyed dancing. Everyone will miss his quick wit and ability to make people laugh.
Ray is survived by his children, Stephen M. (Tracy) Hecke, Kathleen M. (Robert) Byrnes, and Agnes M. (Daniel) Kostedt; his grandchildren, Daniel S. (Megan) Hecke, David M Hecke, Robert L. (Beenish) Hecke, Mark D. (P.J.) Kostedt, and Amanda M. (Kevin) Schell; and his great-grandchildren, Addison R. Hecke, Louis T. Hecke, Edwin T. Hecke, Aurora R. David, Aaliyah R. Schell, and Oliver L. Hecke. He will be missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hecke; his parents, Peter and Nellie Hecke; his 4 brothers; and his 2 sisters.
A private family service will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
