Richard E. Dumont

Richard E. Dumont, age 83, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1939 to Charles and Mary Dumont (nee Johnston).
Richard was a dedicated member of the Freemasons, Order of Odd Fellows, Order of the Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth, and the Royal Arch Masonry. Upon graduating from Carnegie Institute of Technology (Carnegie Mellon University) Richard became a proud Cartographer of 34 years for the Department of Defense. Throughout the years, Richard was an avid reader who enjoyed reading many different genres in his free time. He collected coins, stamps and beer cans and enjoyed playing board and card games. He regularly watched games shows Jeopardy, his favorite.
Richard is survived by his children, Anne (James) Bube of Valley Park, MO, and Joseph (Jamie) Dumont of Wildwood, MO; his granddaughters, Lauren (Ryan) Masnica of Valley Park, MO, Stephanie Bube of Springfield, MO, and Brookelynn (Benjamin) Martin of St. Charles, MO; and his grandson, Brice (Nicki) Bube of Willard, MO. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. Dumont; his father, Charles E. Dumont; his mother, Mary E. Dumont; and his brothers, James (Judy) Dumont, and Charles R. (Chong Hui Kim) Dumont.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:45 pm with a Masonic service to follow at 7:45 pm, all on Monday, September 25, 2023 at West County Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017.
A graveside service will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum,10180 Gravois Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63123. There will be a procession to the cemetery from Newcomer, West County Chapel. Please be at the funeral home, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri, by 9:30 am the procession will depart at 9:45 am to the cemetery.
