Richard Timothy Kretzler

Richard Timothy Kretzler, age 79, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 8, 1944 to Alvin and Sally Kretzler (nee Carroll).

Rich is survived by his wife, Jo Kretzler; three sons, Ed Kretzler, Ken Kretzler, and Michael Kretzler; two step-sons, Jason (Clodagh) Roche and Ryan Roche; twelve grandchildren, Kaitlin (Eggy) Kretzler, Matthew Kretzler, Bailey Kretzler, Nick Kretzler, Eamonn Roche, Abby Kretzler, Shea Kretzler, Shane Roche, Addison Kretzler, Aidan Kretzler, Jack Buckley, and Clark Kretzler; and a host of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin E. Kretzler; and mother, Sally J. Kretzler.


Rich proudly served his country with honor during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He is a member of the VFW, post 3944. Following his military service, he went on to a career with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562, most recently working as an apprentice instructor. In his free time Rich loved traveling and a good cigar. He was also a proud Democrat and a member of the North County Labor Club. Rich was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
