Richard Charles Lakas, age 69, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 15, 1948 to Benjamin and Dorothy Lakas (Hillis).
Richard was a self employed. He was married to Melissa (Schafer) Lakas.
Richard is survived by his wife: Melissa Ann Lakas of Saint Charles, MO, mother: Dorothy Lakas, son: Sean (Tammy) Lakas, daughter: Laura (John) Buchanan, 5 grandchildren: Evan, Emma, Kaikoa, Araya and Luna, one brother: James Lakas, his beloved Golden Retriever: Journey and a multitude of friends and family.
Richard enjoyed traveling, family, investments and reality. He proudly served in the Air Force. He was active in helping with the Disabled and Homeless Veterans and Helping Hands. He loved camping, boating, dancing, swimming, his dog and making people smile and laugh.
He was preceded in death by him father: Benjamin Lakas and a sister: Karen Finch.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville. Mass will be at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville.
