Bob was born in Hamilton, OH to Paul and Catherine Burkey. He graduated from the University of Dayton and was commissioned into the U.S. Army. That became his career, as he served everywhere from Vietnam in 1969 to Desert Storm in 1991. He retired in 1992. He spent his retirement years working and playing on golf courses; he loved his time outdoors and on the links with family and friends. Other favorite pastimes included the River Bend Repertory Company, walking his dogs and especially the time he spent with his adored grandchildren. He will be remembered for his big voice and his big smile.
