Robert "Bob" Chastain

Chastain, Robert "Bob" passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2021. Beloved husband for 51 years to Mary Ann (Good) Chastain. Loving father of Claudine (Joel Hollinger) Chastain and Bridget (David) Yates. Devoted Papa to Lucia and Gianna. Son to the late Earl Chastain and the late Frances (Timme) Chastain. Dearest brother to Bill (Angee) Chastain, Neal (AnnDee) Chastain, Chuck (Janet) Chastain, Mary Kay Maurer, Mark (Chrissy) Chastain, Mickie (Frank) Heppernan, Gary (Nina) Chastain, and Harry (Mary) Hucke. Caring brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle.
Bob was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 396 and retired after 30 years of continuous work. He enjoyed pointing out that he worked on numerous buildings and sites. He was proud to be part of the renovation of the Union Station in the 1980's and numerous other landmarks. He made wonderful lifelong friends as an iron worker.
He served our nation as Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era and was honorably discharged in October, 1968.
Bob was a kind, caring and loving man. The world was a better place with him in it for the past 73 years. He will be greatly missed by his adoring wife, precious children, loving granddaughters and all who knew him.
