Robert W Donovan

Robert W. Donovan, born on September 20, 1942, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025. He was a man of great warmth and character, cherished by all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert P. Donovan and Michael T. Donovan, who carry on his legacy. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to two grandchildren, Asheli M. McCallister (Cody) and Nahsha Donovan, as well as a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren, Hanna Flacke, Raelynn T. McCallister, and Tyson M. McCallister. In addition, he is remembered fondly by his sister, Judith McDermott, his brother-in-law, Lee W. Hynes, and a host of other family members and friends who have been touched by his kindness and spirit.

Throughout his life, Robert showcased a deep love for his family, often stating that above anything, spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. He had a passion for riding his bike, embracing the freedom and exhilaration it offered him. On quieter days, he enjoyed being out in nature.  Robert also found pleasure in playing basketball, and also accomplished being an All-Star player in the 50's.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, William F. Donovan; his mother, Teresa Donovan; his brother, William T. Donovan; his sister, Shirley Hynes; sister-in-law, Betty Donovan; and his brother-in-law, Joseph McDermott. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him.

Visitation will be held on February 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. A Mass will follow on February 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville, Missouri, concluding with a time of reflection on the life he lived and the love he shared.

Robert W. Donovan will be remembered and missed by all, but his legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
