Robert L. "Bob" Lowery, age 86, of Hazelwood, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in St. Peters, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 6, 1931 to John and Nellie Lowery (nee Atwood).
Bob served in the US Army (Artillery) during the Korean War era being stationed in Ft. Tilden, New York. He married the former Mary Ann Madaio of New York and they were married for over 60 years until she preceded him in death April 6, 2014. Bob worked for American Airlines for 35 years in ground support and as a union representative.
Bob enjoyed dining out with Mary Ann, and visiting with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, and was an avid card player. He enjoyed daily poker games with his friends at 'the boat'.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara (Joe) McCarthy of Wildwood, MO; son, Robert (Kimla) Lowery, Jr. of Winfield, MO; a sister Judy Ray; grandchildren, Ashley (Grant) Cook, Laura (Lance) Crowell, Kelly McCarthy, Robby Lowery and Bill Stroessner; and great-grandchildren, Emily Cook, Aidan Crowell, Jase Lowery and Miah Stroessner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William "Bill" Lowery; his brothers Al, Bill, George and John, and a sister Ella Mae.
Visitation will be from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 .
