Robert Henry Mcgee

Robert Henry McGee, age 84, of Manchester, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 13, 1939 to Robert and Pauline McGee (nee Emke).

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Cathy McGee (nee Wagner); children, Rita (Joe) Heneghan, Colleen McGee; Robert McGee, Jr., and Daniel (Linda) McGee; grandchildren, Jenna (Tyler Smith) Strawhun, Shannon Strawhun, Meghan Martin, Erin (James Armstrong) McGee, Emma McGee, Elly McGee, Jess White, Daniel (Ashton Diede) McGee, Jr., and Kelly McGee; great-grandson, Colin Smith; and sisters, Shirley (Jim) Allbright and Dianna (the late Jim) Antonacci. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Van McGee; mother, Pauline Mary McGee; and sister, Arline (Bill) Thrasher.

Bob attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grade school, and was a 1957 graduate of DeAndreis High School. He then went on to a career in computer science, retiring from Standard Oil after 24 years. He also worked for Misericordia, and ran in the Senior Olympics for 20 years. Bob enjoyed coaching children's sports, especially football and basketball. He and his wife bred and raced Standardbred horses for 15 years.
