Robert August Stempfel, age 84, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in St. Charles, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 22, 1933 to August and Elizabeth Stempfel (nee Shuhay).
Robert was a retired Printer for Christian Board Publications and John Stark Printing. He loved all sports, especially soccer and was a High School Soccer Referee for many years, and also a member of the Surrey Lane Men's Club, and St. Pius X Men's Club. Robert married the former Bonnie LaRue, on September 24, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on January 15, 1999 .
Robert is survived by his Children: Karen M. (Jim) Dobbins of Saint Charles, MO, Debbie A. (Rick) Wheeler of Saint Peters, MO and Michael R. (Nancy DeLao) Stempfel of Saint Peters, MO; grandchildren: Michelle (Greg) Rhode, Ryan (Stefanie) Wheeler, Justin Stempfel, Kevin Dobbins, Caitlin Dobbins, Casey Dobbins, Hannah Stempfel, Ella DeLaO and Libby DeLaO; great-grandchildren: Kailyn Rhode, Addisyn Rhode, Emma Wheeler and Wyatt Wheeler;and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Parents, a Brother, John Stempfel, and a Sister, Betty Pelate.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Newcomer St. Peter's Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
