Ronald Gene Cheek

Ronald Gene Cheek, age 69, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 28, 1953 to Melvin and Zella Cheek (nee Millstone).

Ron is survived by his wife, Sheryl Cheek (nee Plate), daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Cheek-Huber; son, Ryan Gene (Becky) Cheek; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Alexis Huber and Kiera Ryan Huber; sister, Judy (Steve) Spires; brother, Bruce (Carol) Cheek; sister, Linda Midden (nee Cheek); and loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Cheek; and mother, Zella Cheek.

Ron was happily married for 43 years and a proud father and grandfather. Ron retired from Chrysler UAW Local 136 in 2005 after working for 32 years. Ron loved summer vacations with his family to any warm, sunny beach. He loved listening to music, giving him a passion to play his guitar. Ron was a lifelong St. Louis sports fan, his favorites being the Cardinals and Blues. Ron also enjoyed his backyard pool with a barbecue and a cold beer, bowling, playing scrabble and poker, celebrating holidays, and doing anything outside in the sun. Ron left a lasting impression on everyone he met with his soft and sweet demeanor while still being the strongest person we will ever be lucky enough to know.
