Ronald Henry Johnson, of lake of the ozarks, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Thursday , January 9, 2025 at his St Charles home surrounded by his family after a long 50 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. His life was a testament to love, family and resilience. Ron was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born on August 8, 1940, to Henry C ‘Hank’ and Helen (Bates) Johnson in Independence , Missouri. Ron grew up in the Kansas City area, where he met his beloved wife Suzanne (Seymour) in elementary school. They married on April 11, 1958 in a private ceremony. Through it all they raised two amazing daughters and were blessed to have two terrific granddaughters, a remarkable grandson and 3 wonderful great grandchildren. He worked at General Motors in Kansas City while attending Finley engineering. Many knew him from his business at the lake of the Ozarks, Johnson Bros. marina , where his love of boats, speed, and dock building all began along with his brother Larry and their families in 1972. Ron loved to travel to beaches, and go on cruises with family and friends. He enjoyed season tickets to the Chiefs and attended both winter and summer Olympics. After 50+ years of working Ron and his wife Sue retired and moved to the St Charles area to be closer to their grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his great grandchildren playing soccer and attending school functions. He tolerated and enjoyed tea parties, dress up and playing Barbie dolls with them.
