Rosetta Flora Karpowecz, died peacefully surrounded by her family when God wrapped His arms around her and took her home. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; a part of us went with you the day God called you home on December 26, 2016.
An artist of conversation, Rose loved everyone she encountered and always made them feel welcome in her presence. She always identified herself as "Mom" in a phone call or text when she called her sons, and looked forward to monthly luncheons with her cousins at Denny's and the annual Farrell family reunion. Rose began her day with The Weather Channel, and enjoyed the outdoors. Growing up in Spanish Lake, she learned early in life to appreciate the outdoors; fishing, camping and gardening. She loved her St. Louis Cardinals, family barbeques, and a beautiful summer day.
Rose is survived by four sons: David (Sandra Morton) Huett, Steve (Sandy) Huett, Frank (Sheila) Karpowecz, and Jim Karpowecz; one sister, Annie Messmer; one brother, Todd (Patricia) Farrell; grandchildren Mandy(Scott) Hollett, Jessica, Huett, Christopher Huett, Jacob (Dawn) Huett, Sonya Straube, Chasity Cunningham, Joshua Karpowecz, Haley (Justin) Weathers, Jordan (Gwendolyn Shire) Karpowecz, Zachary (Samantha Bertrang) Karpowecz, Kirsten Karpowecz and Tyler Karpowecz; great-grandchildren Caleb, Jillian, David, Taylor, Monica, Damien, Haley, Cortney, Hunter, Cloe, Johnathan, Elijah and Rhiannon Rose; great-great grandchildren Ryker, Rylee and Sophia; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Anna (nee Prange) Farrell; one brother, Jim Farrell; two sisters Irene "Reenie" Skelton and Mary LaPlant; one daughter in law Deloris Huett and a great-granddaughter Harley Huett.
The memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Saint Peters on Friday, December 30, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will be held prior the service from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
