Roy L. Ide

Roy L. Ide, age 74, of Chesterfield, Missouri passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on May 3, 1947 to James and Grace Ide (nee Werth).

Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was also a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Roy loved spending time with family, and always looked forward to the "brothers' monthly lunch." He never missed a St. Louis Cardinals game, and constantly searched for "rare and valuable antiques for practically nothing." A life well lived.

Roy is survived by his wife, Glenda K. Ide; his children, Kristen K. (Christopher J.) Parks, Tracie L. (Bradley W.) Jones, Carrie M. Ide and Zachary N. (Amy E. Shapley) Ide; his grandchildren, Sophia R. Jones, Casper W. Jones, Francis N. S. Ide, Simon C. Parks; his siblings, Melvin (Dahlia) Ide, Charles (Nadine) Ide, Daniel (Judith) Ide. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher J. Ide; his father, James Roger Ide, Sr.; his mother, Grace Ide; his brothers, James R. Ide II, Jack Ide and Gerald Ide; and his sister, Naida Boyd.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am, both on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, Missouri 63017. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis.
