Russell Harold Schnarr, 76, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born in St Louis, Missouri on February 9, 1948, to Roy and Genevieve Schnarr (nee Mueller).
Russell is survived by his wife, Judy; his son, David; his daughter, Angela (Steven) Worley; his grandchildren, Nichole (Kevin) Derleth, Amanda (Timothy) Saville; his great-grandchildren, Andre Toth, Alexis Bardenheier, Caroline Derleth, Carter Derleth, Tanner Derleth, Henry Derleth, and Eloise Derleth; and his brother, Richard (Pat) Schnarr; He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Schnarr; his mother, Genevieve Schnarr; brother, James Schnarr; sister, Carolyn Schaedler.
Russ served in the U.S. Army as a Lithographic Photographer in the Republic of Viet Nam from 1968 to 1970.
He graduated from the Greater St. Louis Police Academy in 1972. He began his police career at the City of Creve Coeur, he later served for the City of Manchester as a sergeant and detective and was a member of the Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad. Russ finished his police career serving the City of Ellisville.
Russ began his second career in the automobile industry working as a Finance Manager.
He was a caddie for Bellerive Country Club as a teenager where he learned how to play golf.
Russ loved playing golf with the guys in their weekly skins game. He was a member at the Bluffs and Bogey Hills Country Club where he loved to play cards and talk with his friends after a round of golf.
Russ dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and of course his 2 fur babies Pepper and Patches.
Interment will be April 5 at 1:30 P.M., at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sherdan Road, St. louis, MO 63125-4166.
