Ruth Ann Baker, age 73, of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 15, 1949 to Louis and Ruth Beckmann (nee Bovyn).
She was godly, beautiful, smart, funny, friendly, creative, and multi-talented: she decorated her house well, was an artist, sewed and cooked well, did macrame', knitted, crocheted, etc.
She and her husband did SCUBA diving and snorkeling, they loved whale watching, Hawaii, mountains and oceans, eagle watching, they watched birds and deer in the woods behind their house, she often fed the hummingbirds and they sat and watched them. On her own, she went parasailing, also zip lining thru the trees.
For over 25 years, she was a customer service representative for Monsanto, which broke off as Novus Intl., and she won several awards as an outstanding customer rep.
In 2001, she became a clown, then practiced hard to become a very skilled face painter and balloon artist. She taught others clowning, face painting, and balloon-twisting. She practiced constantly, becoming one of the best face painters in St. Louis.
She was GREAT with kids, also adults. She brought joy to big corporate events and private parties.
She continued in recent years as a kids' entertainer. Other clowns, face painters, and balloon twisters all loved her! Another clown, who worked with her, said she always had a big smile, that the other clowns and face painters loved her, that kids loved her too, and it was so obvious that she and her husband were perfect for each other!
Ruth is survived by her loving Husband, Phil Baker; Sister, Patricia (Bernie) Warthen; Nieces, Debbie (Fred) Volansky, Diane (Kent) Keiser, and Trisha Allen; Nephews, Mark Beckmann and John Allen; Brother-in-law Joe (Karren) Baker, nieces Shelley Baker, Deanna (Russell) Henderson and her children, nephew Jeff (Kim) Baker and his children, Niece Courtney Baker, Nephew Todd Deveney, and a host of other family members and friends.
