Ruth Ann Compton, age 85, of Hazelwood, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in Saint Peters, Missouri. She was born in Granite City, Illinois on July 8, 1937 to Lester and Mary Ater (nee Hubbard).
Ruth Ann will be remembered as a lifelong political activist, volunteer, and business owner.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Earl; two daughters, Cynthia Ruth (Bruce) Boaz, Vanessa Ater (Carl III) Deister; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Valerie) Boaz, William Boaz, Elizabeth Deister, Carl Deister, IV; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Kenneth Ater; and mother, Mary Matilda Ater.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 pm with Funeral Ceremony at 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. Peters Chapel, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment will be private.
