Samantha Lea Parker, affectionately known as Sam, left this world on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 2, 1991, in Alton, Illinois, Sam brought an abundance of joy and warmth to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a shining light in her community and touched countless lives with her vibrant spirit and infectious smile.
A proud graduate of Edwardsville High School, Sam achieved remarkable academic success, graduating with High Honors and maintaining the status of double honor student. Her dedication and passion for learning extended beyond the classroom as she pursued her dream by completing her Cosmetology training at the Paul Mitchell School in 2014—an accomplishment that filled her with immense pride.
From an early age, Samantha was a force of nature. Her love for performing arts was evident as she danced since she was four, mastering Tap, Ballet, and Jazz, and ultimately becoming an integral part of her high school's dance team while also cheering for the school spirit. Whether it was through choreography or vibrant conversations, she had a unique ability to light up a room, making her friends and family feel cherished and valued.
Sam's outgoing and fun-loving personality drew many close to her. A loyal friend, she cultivated deep relationships within her small circle, ensuring that each friendship was meaningful and special. She had an incredible love for her family, supporting and encouraging them in every endeavor. She shared beautiful moments with her sisters, Sabrina and Shauna, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts, along with her niece and nephew, Aspen and Ari, to whom she provided endless laughter and love.
Her vibrant energy extended into her love for animals, particularly her beloved dogs, who were not just pets but integral members of her family. Sam's passions also found expression through her creativity in theater, hair, and makeup, allowing her to combine artistry with her love for uplifting those around her.
The memories of Sam at dance performances, particularly the joy and excitement on her face as she shared her passion with her dance team, will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. Those cherished experiences encapsulate the essence of who she was—an irreplaceable spirit who inspired everyone she encountered.
Samantha was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Henry and Maxine Parker and Robert and Rita Mahassek, who surely welcomed her with open arms upon her arrival in the eternal realm.
Sam leaves behind her loving parents, David R. Parker and Meri Mahassek-Ferraris, her devoted sisters, Sabrina (Ryan Price) Parker and Shauna Parker, and her adoring niece and nephew, Aspen and Ari Guliacci. While her physical presence may no longer be among us, the legacy of love and laughter that Sam created will continue to resonate in the lives she touched. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, a testament to a beautiful life lived fully and with passionate purpose.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation in Sam's memory to your local Animal Shelter.
