Scott Lloyd Raridon

July 30, 1951 — August 24, 2020

Scott Lloyd Raridon, age 69, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 30, 1951 to Lloyd and Beverly Raridon (nee Hale).

Scott met the love of his life, Linda, in their McCook, Nebraska kindergarten class. His persistence paid off, and by high school they were officially together. They were married on August 22, 1971 and moved to Kearney, Nebraska while Linda finished her college degree. After Linda graduated they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they would build their life together and raise their family for the next 30 years.

Not long after Scott and Linda were married, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Even though MS robbed him of many of his physical abilities, he did not lose his always-positive outlook on life. He was gracious and thankful to everyone who helped him. Scott often had a smile on his face and a joke for anyone who would listen. His kindness and generosity to his wife, children, and grandchildren were cherished and greatly appreciated.

Loss of vision and other MS complications could not keep Scott from realizing his goal of earning a college degree before his children. In 1990, Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in Journalism. It was an extremely proud moment for his entire family.

In 2002, Scott and Linda moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he quickly fell in love with every St. Louis sports team. The Cardinals were by far his favorite team to follow. Every game would be on his TV and he knew every player, game location and the scores of past games. He also enjoyed the Blues and the St. Louis Rams. He relished any opportunity to attend one of their games live.

Most of all, Scott cherished time spent with his family. He never missed a game, match, recital, or show of Lezlie or Jeremy. He was loving, supportive, and encouraging. When he became a Papa, he loved watching his grandchildren do almost anything, as they brought such joy and happiness to his life.

Scott is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Raridon; his children, Lezlie (Justus) Bacott, and Jeremy (Lindsey) Raridon; his grandchildren, Adrienne Bacott, Anna Bacott, Calvin Bacott, and Brynn Bacott; and his brother, Todd (Julie) Raridon. He will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Raridon; his mother, Beverly Jean Raridon-Stutzman; and his sister, Cynthia Raridon.

The family would like to thank McClay Senior Care and Heartland Hospice for their care and support.
