Sharon Zita Ridgeway, age 85, of Wentzville, Missouri, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2025. Born on August 28, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the cherished daughter of Elmer Narrell and Zita Narrell (nee Blair), both of whom preceded in death.

Sharon was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Lawrence, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage beginning on September 3, 1960. Together, they built a life full of love and memories, raising a family that was her pride and joy. Sharon is survived by her children, Kimberly Carmack, Karen (Mike) Clarke, Kelly (Marty) Cassidy, and Jon (Dawn) Ridgeway, each of whom carries forward her legacy of kindness and nurturing spirit. She delighted in her role as grandmother to her grandchildren: Mchail Clarke, Joshua Baldes, Chelsea Gilmore, Christian Carmack, Sarah Swim, Jamie Cassidy, Raymond Ridgeway, Allison Ridgeway, and Jacqueline Ridgeway as well as her great-grandchildren, including Noah Cassidy, Hadleigh Cassidy, Cooper Cassidy, Remy Gilmore, Roman Gilmore, Blair Carmack, and Bryson Carmack.

Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Laverne Buyington; two grandsons, Connor Carmack and Michael Clarke; and her son-in-law, Kevin Carmack.

Sharon's professional journey included her valued work at Sears where she developed many lasting friendships. Known for her warm, caring personality, Sharon found joy beyond her career. She embraced volunteer opportunities that enriched her community, devoting countless hours at DePaul Hospital, leading tours for the Bridgeton Payne Gentry House and the O'Fallon Historical Society, and participating in the Meals on Wheels program. Her love for shopping and home decorating brought her immense joy, alongside her passion for garage sales that often turned in to exciting treasure hunts.

A proud graduate of Wellston High School, Sharon's engagement in her community and her love for her family were hallmarks of her life. She exemplified the importance of family, generously sharing her time and heart. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her, as she left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her.

Family and friends are invited to honor Sharon’s legacy during a visitation on April 1, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 11:30 AM, with a committal service scheduled at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

As we remember Sharon Ridgeway, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for her family and community. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through all those whose lives she touched.
