Shirley A. Mitchell

Shirley Ann Mitchell, age 76, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, Fortified with the Sacrament of Holy Mother Church, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 9, 1940 to Henry and Mary Penkawa (nee Handschmidt). Shirley was a graduate of Jennings High School, Jennings, Missouri. Shirley married Gerald Mitchell on September 24, 1960 in Jennings, Missouri. She was a former service representative with AT&T for many years, a stained glass designer with SGO Designer Glass in St. Charles, and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wentzville. Some of Shirley's many enjoyments in life were boating, traveling, art and especially making stained glass.

Shirley is survived by her Husband, Gerald R. Mitchell of Lake Saint Louis, MO; Son's, Jerry Mitchell and Donald Mitchell, both of Lake Saint Louis, MO; a Brother, Henry Penkawa of Lake Saint Louis, MO; a Sister, Caroline (Ed) Province of St. Louis, MO; a Grandson, Jeremiah Mitchell of Lake Saint Louis, MO; and a great grandson, Tucker Mitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 31, 2016, St. Patrick Catholic Church, 405 South Church Street, Wentzville, Missouri 63385, with Msgr. Pat O'Laughlin officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1:00 until 5:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, Missouri. Interment at Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville, Missouri.
